An exceptional location

Vineyard

Some people might say that the same estate was born lucky, located a few kilometres north of Bordeaux on the famous Medoc peninsula at the heart of the equally well-known Margaux appellation.

Its 25 hectares of wines grown on a terroir that is jealously envied by many…

Here, the ground is made up mainly of gravel and pebbles that hardly withhold any rainwater at all. The wine roots therefore have to seek water very deep down and at times suffer from the much discussed “hydric stress”, which is essential in order to produce wines with great character.

Chateau Siran’s proportion of grape varieties is also unusual:

46 % Merlot
A significant percentage of Merlot contributing elegant roundness.

41% Cabernet Sauvignon
A large share of Cabernet Sauvignon for strength.

11% Petit Verdot
One of the highest proportions of Petit Verdot in the area, which is responsible for the wines’ deep colour and impressive length on the palate.

2 % Cabernet Franc
